The 2026 Municipal Election is HERE
TIP OF THE DAY
Aug 23 - Handling Stress
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -- Thomas Edison
This quote emphasizes that failure is a part of the process and not an end in itself.
Parents should focus more on effort and less on the grades.

Hi Voters in WARDS 2 & 6, I've been pretty busy collecting Lawn & Corner signs for the 2 Candidates I Supported. One was Re-elected and the other had a great Showing in the past Municipal Election. I wish to thank all who voted (especially those who voted for me). If I had been able to swing 1,050 votes my way I might have been Victorious. From the Pictures I posted as well as my Financials ($778.81 - including $100 refundable nomination fee) you can see that the Ward 2 & 6 School Trustee Position is available to any Ward 2 or Ward 6 resident that wishes to run in the next election and is willing to put in a little more effort. Expenses amounted to 14.84 cents ($0.1484) per vote!!! The Fact that the Ward 2 & 6 School Trustee position was going to be acclaimed for a candidate from Ward 3 - Didn't Seem Right. In the last moments I decided to give the voters in these Wards a choice and you responded with 4,574 votes for me ( 40.6% of the votes). This vote clearly indicates that Your School Trustee will have to listen more carefully to the needs of Parents & Children in his care if he wants to keep his job. I can only hope that a candidate from Ward 2 or 6 will take over. You deserve to have a member of your Community represent you at the School Board; get to know the schools in Wards 2 and 6 - they are awesome establishments. Attend some of the Trustee meetings. Get involved in the community. Get to know the people in the area - the ones I met and spoke with are great. The voters want to vote; however, when they do not know the people running they get disillusioned and then just don't participate . Voters want to meet you - they want to talk with you - personal contact will defeat social media/signs every day! The children are still struggling with viruses, mental health issues, etc. They have already missed some days of school due to contract negotiations. We all want to keep the students in school - "Why can't we just get along?". Let your Government Reps know your opinions - They Work For You Every Day, not just on Election Day every 4 YEARS.I wish you all the best and hope to see one of you running in the 2026 Elections!

Congratulations to Ron Lynn Ward 2 & 6 School Trustee. I hope you will put in as much energy in taking care of the community's children as you did to get Elected - Bless your Heart.

Hello and Ni hao Wards 2 and 6!
Just got home after viewing the results of the election and to be honest I am blown away by the support I received from you, the voters, in these 2 wards. I cannot thank you enough for voting and especially for casting 40.1% of the votes in my favour. A total of 11,194 votes were cast and you gave me an overwhelming 4,547 of those votes.
Although I did not win, I consider the residents of Wards 2 and 6 to be the winners. I was able to provide you, the voters, with a choice. With your votes and the posted results, you have put both the School Trustee and School Board on notice that you have issues with the existing system.
Good night to you all and I will have more to say to you tomorrow.

Hello and Ni hao Wards 2 & 6,
I just want to outline how I came to be in your lives this Election. My initial plan for this Election was to help Shanta Sundarason get elected Regional Councillor; however, that plan changed on August 19,2022 @10am. That was the day the residents in Wards 2 & 6 were going to lose their chance to elect a school trustee (or complain about an existing one). If only 1 Candidate runs, he/she is Acclaimed (no need for a vote)
I hope that my running for School Trustee has given you the opportunity to ask questions of the Candidates. I know that I have answered a number of relevant questions about the direction the school system is going . I hope that Ron, being the incumbent, has answered many more. Having an acclaimed school trustee would have meant that your questions might have gone un-answered. Instead, by my joining the campaign, your questions and concerns became very important & relevant for both of the candidates.
I hope you took full advantage of the opportunity during the last 9 weeks and I look forward to answering many more questions in the next 4 years.
Just want to wish all the candidates Good Luck - mayoral, regional, ward and school trustee. It has been an interesting journey, one I am glad that I chose to take!

Since 'transparency' is a word that has been bandied about quite frequently this election, I am outlining my financial expenditures BEFORE not after the election.
I found out that if I had the time to raise money I would be allowed to spend around $38,000 on this election. In reality I spent 2% of this on my campaign which included the $100 application fee.
My total expenses amounted to $678.81 which included business cards, door hanger promotion material, stickers, laser toner cartridges, paper and 2 magnetic car signs.
If elected I will treat Taxpayers' (your) money with the same financial acuity I used in my campaign.
Please, if you have already voted - Thank you very much. If you have not voted - it is easy, painless and SOOO important.

Are you ready to vote? Watch for me at busy intersections in Wards 2 and 6.
October 14, 2022 - Voting Has Begun!
Hello and Ni hao to all Ward 2 & 6 Voters,
Today we begin the 10 day voting sprint towards electing a new Municipal Government to rule over us for the next 4 years.
If you are happy with Markham as it is today, you should Re-Elect the people who got us here.
If you think WE CAN DO BETTER, vote for New Candidates with new and fresher ideas.
As for my desire to be your NEW school board trustee - I will give you, the parents, and your children my FULL 100% attention - YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN, not politicians / not unions / not a desire to use your children as a stepping stone to Higher Government positions (Ward and Regional Council). You and your families will be my one and only priority; and in 4 years one of you, a member of the Ward 2 or 6 Community, will take over my Position of School Trustee, as it should be.
October 12, 2022 - Voting Begins on October 14
Hello Wards 2 & 6 - Ni hao
The time has come for you to STEP-UP. "A Bad Government is Elected by Those Who Don't Vote". Let's get together and vote in a GOOD GOVERNMENT.
If you were Lucky enough to read my Literature (after sorting through everyone else's), you'll see that some of the current Candidates were former School Trustees - this will never be me . My sole purpose in this election is to represent the children and their parents when dealing with the School System - I'm not here to make plans for my next step up the political food chain (Ward Councillor/Regional Councillor). I'm here to help you and your families and to help you or one of your neighbours become the Next School Trustee (living in Ward 2 or 6) in 4 years.
I'll be at the busier corners in Wards 2 and 6 next week waving at YOU. You won't be able to miss me - so please wave back.
If you are still here - Please Don't Forget To Vote; and a vote for me would be appreciated! Xiexie
OCTOBER 3, 2022 - We Can't Even Vote For Ourselves
When I decided to run for School Trustee, I didn't realize that the only 2 School Trustee Candidates for Wards 2 & 6 don't live in Wards 2 OR 6.
While canvassing, I've met many great people in these wards and I agree that IT'S TIME for a CHANGE. If you are serious about CHANGE, when you see the words "INCUMBENT" or "RE-ELECT" vote for the other person - this is the only way to guarantee a Change will happen.
NOW for MY PROMISE: The people of WARDS 2 & 6 deserve a School Trustee that LIVES in WARDS 2 or 6. If elected I will serve only 1 term. During this 4 year term, I will be a FULL-TIME school trustee helping children and parents deal with the POLITICS of our school system and I will also help forward your issues to City Hall. I will also be working with Citizen Groups in Wards 2 & 6 to put forward a group of local people who will run for the 2026 School Trustee Elections (you or your neighbour should be the next School Trustee). On October 14 - 24, vote for the candidate who you feel will provide the best support for YOUR community.
